Dates and Locations

You will be required to attend a mandatory education session on the morning of your scheduled shadow experience. Upcoming job shadow dates and corresponding meeting locations are listed below. All education sessions will begin promptly at 7 am and you must be present for the entire session in order to participate in the program.

Dress Code

As part of the Job Shadow Program, your appearance is important. Your clothing should be neat, tidy and clean.

You will not need a purse, cell phone, pager or backpack when job shadowing.

More Information

As part of the Job Shadow Program, your appearance is important. Your clothing should be neat, tidy and clean. A few things to remember:

No jeans
No shorts
No sweatpants
No tank tops or bare midriffs
No baggy clothes or clothes that drag the floor
No exposed undergarments
No scrubs

Please wear comfortable closed toe shoes, clean gym shoes are acceptable. Socks or stockings must be worn.

No sandals
No flip flops
No dangling jewelry
All body piercing and tattoos must be covered

Conduct

We are happy to have you as a job shadow participant at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center and want you to have a positive learning experience. Please remember that you will be a guest and will be expected to act in a courteous and respectful manner.

Cincinnati Children's is a non-smoking facility. This means there is no smoking permitted on the premises.

Parking

If you will be driving on the day of your shadowing experience, you should park in Location D of the visitor’s parking lot. Visitor parking is free with a validated parking ticket. Bring your parking ticket inside with you, and the hospital staff will validate your parking ticket.

If you will be dropped off on the day of your shadowing experience, please view the Maps: Cincinnati Children’s Main Campus Map and the Concourse Map to co-ordinate a drop off and pick-up location. We suggest locations B or C. (From Burnet Avenue, enter the circle as shown on the Concourse Map for drop off and pick up in front of locations B or C).

Miscellaneous Information

During your job shadowing experience, you will not need a purse, cell phone, pager or backpack. Please lock these items in your car trunk. Do not bring large amounts of cash, books, journals, etc. Cell phone use in NOT permitted inside the medical center -- please leave your cell phone in your car or at home.
